What exactly do I get?
A document that is itself a beautiful artwork, representing your ownership of one square inch of Strathspey, subject to the precedent rights of the Company as stated in the terms of the Caledonia Land Deed.
Why 'square inch' land?
This is your tangible link with Scotland - a square inch of real estate, but of course being so small, ownership is for sentimental purposes only.
What kind of land is it?
Your square inch is part of a meadow in a Highland glen bordered by trees and a burn. On the outskirts of a rural village, it is very picturesque and easily accessible.
Is the Deed legal?
By inserting the owner's name and signing the Deed, it becomes a legal document. Ownership is subject to the terms and conditions stated in the document.
What about owner access?
All Owners have equal rights of access to and over the land.
Do I have to pay taxes on my square inch?
No - the Company retains all rights to the land and in return is responsible for all taxes and all other costs.
Can I develop my land?
No - in the interests of all Owners, the land is to remain undeveloped in its natural state.
Do I have to register my land with anyone?
Only with the Company. All other formalities in regard to the land have been completed by the Company.
Can I camp there?
As there are no facilities, camping on the land is not a feasible proposition. Camping in the area is however one of the many excellent facilities offered by the local tourism sector.
How do I gift a square inch?
Just complete the purchase procedures as normal. Also complete the message section if appropriate. We will mail his/her Deed directly with a card containing your message.
Can I buy more than one Deed?
Yes, you can buy as many Deeds as you wish.

What is Strathspey?
A 'Strath' is a river valley in Scotland, hence Strathspey - valley of the River Spey.
Why is Strathspey famous?
This Highland region is arguably the most scenically attractive area of Scotland, and is visited for its castles, distilleries and salmon fishing.
Scotch Distilleries?
More than half of Scotch single malt whiskies are distilled from the pure water of Strathspey. Among some 50 distilleries in the area are Glenfiddich, the Macallan, Glen Grant, Glenfarclas, Tamdhu, Glenmorangie, and Glenlivet.
